BILL & TED 3 Will Include "Many Versions" of Characters
We've got another update to share with you regarding Bill & Ted 3. Alex Winter, who played Bill S. Preston in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, reveals that if the third film ever happens it will feature "many versions" of the characters Bill and Ted, who, as you know, was played by Keanu Reeves.
It's been 23 years since we've seen these characters on the big screen, and I really hope that this third movie that has been in development happens. It seems like there's a good chance that it could become a reality. This is what Winter has to say about the movie in an interview with Yahoo.
“[Bill & Ted] will be 40-something and it’s all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up. It’s really sweet and really f*****g funny.
“But it’s a Bill & Ted movie, that’s what it is. It’s for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It’s not going to feel like a reboot. The conceit is really funny: what if you’re middle-aged, haven’t really grown up and you’re supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven’t?
“There’s many versions of ourselves in this movie. [It’s] answering the question: ‘What happened to these guys?’ They’re supposed to have done all this stuff, they weren’t the brightest bulbs on the tree, what happened 20 years later? To answer that question in a comedic way felt rich with possibility.”
Excellent! There's some great stuff here that gives us a good idea of what we might expect to see if the movie happens, and I'm looking forward to the day when it is brought to life. I like the idea of them playing around with alternate versions of the characters.
