BOYHOOD MEETS WORLD Mash-Up Video
Laugh all you want, but Boy Meets World is one of my favorite TV shows. While many of the episodes are heavy-handed and super cheesy, there's also some terrific stuff in there about family, making tough choices, and growing up. I watched it religiously growing up, and I'll still occasionally tune in to a rerun if I see it pop up on TV.
Richard Linklater's Boyhood, which just received six Oscar nominations this morning, is a cinematic achievement like no other, spanning twelve years and becoming one of the most beloved films of 2014. YouTube user Avery Monsen cut together a mash-up using the music from Boyhood's trailer (as well as some of the fonts and title cards, slightly altered) with footage from Boy Meets World, showing a young Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) growing from a curly-haired little kid into a curly-haired man. Because of my love for BMW, this is one of the most touching mash-ups I've seen in a while. Check it out below.
