Bruce Willis Set to Star in Stephen King’s MISERY on Broadway
Bruce Wills will make his Broadway debut in a stage adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery. This is definitely something that I would fly to New York to pay and see! I’m a huge fan of King’s Misery, and Willis is perfect for the role of novelist Paul Sheldon.
If you haven’t read the book or seen the movie, the story follows Sheldon, who is in a car accident and rescued by his number one fan, who happens to be an insane nut. She ends up holding him captive and putting him through absolute hell.
The script for the stage production is being written by William Goldman, who is the same guy that wrote the screenplay for the 1990 film, which won Kathy Bates an Academy Award.
The story has the perfect setting for a stage production, and I think it has a lot of potential to be great. The production is being produced by Warner Bros.’ Theater Ventures, and will get a limited run in fall 2015. The exact dates and theater have yet to be announced.
