Celebrate 20 Years of Pixar Movies With This Cool Montage

Ready to feel old? Toy Story, the first fully CG animated feature film, came out twenty years ago this week on November 22nd, 1995. Pixar has actually been around for a lot longer than that — it started in the late '70s as part of Lucasfilm's computer division — but the twentieth anniversary of Toy Story is as good a time as any to look back on the amazing work the company has done so far. Much has been written about the company's full-length movies, but some of you may not know that they were developing short films for years before making the leap into infinity and beyond.

A new video from editor Kees van Dijkhuizen Jr. combines footage from some of those old shorts with Michael Giacchino's score from Up and Andrew Stanton's TED Talk about great storytelling to form a nice tribute to the studio. Check it out below. Thanks to Kees for sending this our way.

20 years ago, Toy Story was released. Take a trip through Pixar's history, accompanied by writer and director Andrew Stanton's TED Talk on how to tell a great story, and Michael Giacchino's award-winning music from "Up". Andrew Stanton's TED Talk: https://youtu.be/KxDwieKpawg 'Stuff We Did', written by Michael Giacchino, from the soundtrack for "Up", remains courtesy of Walt Disney Records/Pixar, ℗ 2009.
