Channing Tatum's GAMBIT Movie Moves Forward with Writer

20th Century Fox is officially moving forward with Channing Tatum's solo Gambit movie. Tatum is officially on board to star in it, and they've just hired RoboCop remake writer Josh Zetumer to to write the screenplay.

According to Deadline, the story for the film will be based on a treatment that was written by legendary Marvel Comics writer Chris Claremont, who co-created the character in 1990 with comic artist Jim Lee.

As of now, no plot details have been released, but fans have been waiting to see the badass character properly brought to life for the big screen. Taylor Kitsch played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but I think most X-Men fans would like to pretend that that movie never existed.

I'm happy to see that this movie is moving forward. I've always liked the idea of Tatum playing the character. He's become quite a talented actor over the years and it will be cool to see him portray this Marvel character.
