Charlie Hunnam Heads Into The Jungle in THE LOST CITY OF Z Trailer

After years of writing about the film, we finally have our first look at James Gray's adventure drama The Lost City of Z. Brad Pitt and Benedict Cumberbatch were attached to the lead role at various points during the film's long development process before the producers ultimately cast Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam, with Robert Pattinson and Tom Holland joining him in this excursion into the jungle.

The video seems to be more of a sales pitch to potential distributors than a regular trailer, so A) apologies if it gets taken down later today, and B) while it looks like it does a good job of getting across the tone of the movie, it also appears to give away a LOT more of the story than a normal trailer would (or should). If I were you, I'd only watch a minute or two of this just to get the gist of it, but you do you. Meet me below for a more detailed explanation of what this film is about:

Hunnam plays Percy Fawcett, a soldier who headed into the depths of the Amazon jungles in Brazil in 1925. Intending to map the jungle, he contracted malaria and discovered a mythical city he called The Lost City Of Z. His peers claimed that this ancient kingdom was a fraud, but Fawcett later traveled back into the jungle with his son and another man in an effort to prove his discovery. None of them were ever seen again.

There's no release date information for this film yet, but hopefully we'll see it before the end of 2016.
