Chilling First Trailer for WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES

The first trailer for War for the Planet of the Apes has been released, and WOW! This looks like yet another incredible sequel. This trailer is pretty chilling. Caesar finds himself in a very dark place here. After his failed attempts to try and live in peace with the humans, he is prepared to do whatever it takes to protect his apes from being obliterated by them.

Caesar has to face off against a merciless military man who is known as The Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson. When talking about the character, director Matt Reeves says, "The Colonel is willing to go to great lengths to create a world where things can be gentle again. But the journey he takes you on is chilling.” Andy Serkis adds:

"He and Caesar ultimately face off, yet there’s also bizarrely a kind of respect and understanding from both sides. It’s understanding the condition of the other person, what they’re having to suffer through and what they’re trying to protect.”

This sounds like it going to make for an interesting dynamic. I've been looking forward to seeing the first footage from this film, and it looks it will at least be just as good as the previous two films, which were awesome. Maybe this third chapter will be even better! It definitely looks great!

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

War for the Planet of the Apes also stars Steve Zahn, Terry Notary, and Karin Konoval. It hits theaters on July 14th, 2017.
