Chris Pine Says WONDER WOMAN Will Be a "F**king Blast!"
Director Patty Jenkins is currently shooting Wonder Woman with Chris Pine and Gal Gadot, and it seems like things have been going well. In a recent interview with Total Film (via Heroic Hollywood), Pine, who plays Steve Trevor in the film, talked about the movie and said it's going to be a "f**king blast!" He also talks about how it's finally time that the world sees intelligent women kicking ass.
"It’ll be a f#cking blast. Patty’s got a tremendous sense of story, I couldn’t be happier to be supporting Gal in what’s going to be the first female-driven superhero film. I think in the world today we’ve had plenty enough of male-driven everything and it’s finally time to see how wonderful the world can be with beautiful, strong intelligent women kicking some major ass."
This is a great statement, but whenever anyone says stuff like that I always think, haven't they seen Aliens, Serenity, Tomb Raider, Underworld, Kill Bill, G.I. Jane, Resident Evil, and Chocolate? There are a ton of other films that also have strong, beautiful, intelligent female characters that kick major ass. It's not like Wonder Woman will be the first movie to do it. Even in the world of comic book movies, this isn't the first one; we've seen movies centered on Supergirl, Catwoman, and Elektra. Sure, they weren't the best movies, but they still focused on powerful female superhero characters. Wonder Woman is sure to be a lot better than those, though.
I'm really excited about Wonder Woman! From what I've seen of her in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gal Gagot's portrayal of the character is going to be a lot better than I initially thought. She really seems to fit the character perfectly.
Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
