Compelling Trailer for the Sci-Fi Thriller EX MACHINA
We've got the first fascinating trailer for Alex Garland's upcoming sci-fi thriller, Ex Machina. Garland is the writer who gave us the incredible genre films Sunshine and 28 Days Later. He's an incredibly talented writer, and he makes his directorial debut with Ex Machina. This movie has a great cast that includes Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson, and the story it tells looks incredibly awesome and intense. Here's the synopsis:
Caleb Smith (Gleeson), a programmer at an internet-search giant, wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company's brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Isaac). Upon his arrival, Caleb learns that Nathan has chosen him to be the human component in a Turing Test—charging him with evaluating the capabilities, and ultimately the consciousness, of Nathan’s latest experiment in artificial intelligence. That experiment is Ava (Alicia Vikander), a breathtaking A.I. whose emotional intelligence proves more sophisticated––and more deceptive.
The movie will be released in theater on April 10th, 2015. I'm really excited about this movie, and I can't wait to see it!
