Cool Short Film Uses Light Paintings as Characters

Videos Short Film by Ben Pearson

Darren Pearson (no relation) has managed to create a short film called Lightspeed that uses light paintings as characters, and the result is a breathtaking piece that makes me wonder how he pulled all of this off. It's not only the creation and execution of multiple light paintings (he apparently hand-drew all of them, over 1000 in total), but it's combining them with moving timelapse photography that seems like it would often be gorgeous just on its own. Look at the :48 second mark as an example: there's a painted wolf in the foreground, but there's also a timelapse of the night sky that's pretty stunning to behold when you take the entire image into account. What a cool idea.
