Corey Stoll on Yellowjacket and ANT-MAN Beating Hulk

Here's a little Ant-Man news that has popped up from an interview conducted by Clever Movies at Comic-Con earlier this year. It was just one of those interviews that was overlooked in the whirlwind of geek madness. In it, actor Corey Stoll talks about his character, Yellowjacket, and even explains why he thinks Ant-Man could beat the Hulk. Why don't we start with that!

"It's so weird...if somebody were to [ask] 'What [super]power would you want?' you wouldn't say, 'I'd like to be able to shrink down to the size of an ant.' That seems like being the opposite of a superhero, but when you actually think about all the things you could do if you were that small, and you retained your full-size strength, you would be sort of unbeatable. Like, I think the Ant-Man could beat the Hulk. He could shrink down and go up his nose, and you know, crush his brain. How is the Hulk gonna beat the Ant-Man? He'd be chasing him around."

That would definitely be an interesting showdown, and he makes some good points. Who knows if we'll ever see that fight on the big screen. Stoll then went on to talk about what he loves about his Ant-Man character, Darren Cross, a.k.a. Yellowjacket.

"He is not a villain in the vein of Thanos or Loki, who are villains that know it. [Cross] is a guy who is not that dissimilar from Michael Douglas' character, Hank Pym. A brilliant scientist, who is not ethically pure. I think a great thing about the whole movie is that everybody in this movie is in those shades of gray a little bit. I think it will be a fun character to create."

Ant-Man is currently shooting and is set to be released on July 17th, 2015. I'm looking forward to seeing more from the movie. Peyton Reed is directing the film, which stars also stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, Wood Harris, John Slattery, and Gregg Turkington

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Thanks to CBM for the heads up.
