Creepy Fun Trailer for the Surprise BLAIR WITCH Sequel
Lionsgate has officially revealed that director Adam Wingard's upcoming horror film The Woods is actually a sequel to The Blair Witch Project simply called Blair Witch. The studio released the trailer at Comic-Con, and now it's online for you to watch!
I was actually fan of the original Blair Witch film because when it came out I had never seen anything like that before. It was a one-of-a-kind horror film concept that was marketed extremely well. I hated the first sequel that was made, but this recent one looks like it will be a creepy fun flick. Jimmy Champane of IGN said:
"Blair Witch is legitimately the most terrifyingly relentless movie I have seen in my life. Scarier than The Strangers."
So that's a pretty strong endorsement, but remember, the film comes from the same guy who made The Guest and You're Next. I've seen a few other very positive reviews for the film as well. Here's the synopsis:
A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James' sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.
Blair Witch will be released on September 16th, 2016.
