Daniel Bruhl on Joining CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
As we have seen lately, it seems like Marvel and DC are in a competition to get all of the best actors in the business under their belts. I am not going to lie, I am very impressed with the quality of actors they have each brought into the comic book world. Being a lifelong comic fan, I am thoroughly enjoying the comic book movie explosion. Yes, I know it is not going to last forever, but I am going to enjoy it while it's blowing up.
Marvel previously added another huge up and coming name to their list actors. Daniel Bruhl (Inglorious Basterds, Rush) has been cast in Captain America: Civil War. It is yet unknown what part he will be playing, but rumor has it that he will be playing villain Baron Zemo. The Wall Street Journal was able to get an interview with the actor, and this is what he said about being cast:
"It’s huge for me. From the world I am coming from and the movies I have done, this feels big—megalomania and huge. I think I will be walking around for the first week being amazed, like a little boy, to be in that universe. It is going to be fantastic. It is something new. That is why it is a challenge. But it is something I am very much looking forward to because this is entertainment on the highest level."
Both Marvel and DC are playing their cards close to their chests. They give us just enough “spoiler” information to fuel the fanboy/girl fire. We all know that they keep all of the juiciest stuff under wraps.
So let the speculation begin. I am truly excited to see who Bruhl will be playing. He is such a great young actor that I am sure he is going to be great at whatever he does.
