Daniel Radcliffe and Zachary Quinto Uniting For Anonymous vs. Cartel Drama WE DO NOT FORGET

Daniel Radcliffe has built a fascinating career beyond the Harry Potter films, appearing in horror movies like The Woman in Black and things more completely off the wall like this year's Swiss Army Man, but let's get real — for a segment of the population, he'll never fully escape the legacy of playing The Boy Who Lived. Now Radcliffe will team up with another actor primarily known for one mainstream role: Zachary Quinto, who of course most people recognize as Mr. Spock in the Kelvin-verse Star Trek films. Deadline says that the two of them will star in a new movie called We Do Not Forget, and this one has a very interesting premise.

Written and directed by Stranger Than Fiction writer Zach Helm, the film will be a fictionalized version of a real conflict between the "hacktivist" group Anonymous and a Mexican drug cartel called Los Zetas. Deadline recounts some details about the actual events that occurred between the two groups:

In reports about the real skirmish, Anonymous reportedly uncovered 25,000 Mexican government emails that had the names of Zeta members and their business information. The organization threatened to make the documents public after one of its members was kidnapped by the cartel. The decision to take on the powerful cartel riled the members of Anonymous, internally, which is understandable given the level of violence attributed to the group. The cartel hired security experts to track down the hackers, promising death to any whose identity was uncovered. The hacking effort, which was called #OpCartel, was abandoned and some reports wondered how serious it all got.

I don't know about you, but I'm hooked. This should be a really interesting film, and it'll actually be the second time that Quinto will be involved with a real story like this; he appears as a journalist in Snowden this month. What do you think? Sound good to you?
