Dark Disney: The Real Stories Behind 10 Disney Animated Films - Part 2
A few months ago we posted a video that broke down some of the actual stories behind many of Disney's popular animated films. You can watch that here in case you missed it. ScreenRant decided to keep the ball rolling on this subject, and they've released a second video for you to watch. This one includes films such as Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, and more. There's lots of great information included here for those of you who aren't familiar with the darkness of the stories that Disney likes to turn into kids films.
Despite being kids movies, Disney films have a reputation for including dark elements like the death of a parent or villains hiding behind a pretty face. But the original stories many Disney movies are based on are even darker and more gruesome than what makes it into the final animated feature.
