David Bowie Passes Away at Age 69
From Jareth the Goblin King in Labyrinth to a multitude of dynamic performances as a musician, model, and actor, David Bowie was a truly iconic figure representing honesty and beauty in art. His last album, Blackstar, was just released on January 8th, featuring these lyrics:
“Look up here, I’m in heaven
I’ve got scars that can’t be seen
I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen
Everybody knows me now
Oh I’ll be free
Just like that bluebird
Oh I’ll be free
Ain’t that just like me”
Lazarus by David Bowie
A tweet from his son, Duncan Jones, shows a picture of him as a toddler sitting on his father’s shoulders as he confirmed this news:
Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all. pic.twitter.com/Kh2fq3tf9m

Bowie had been battling cancer for the final 18 months of his life.
“Everybody knows me now,” is a phrase repeated in his last single. As if words could possibly be enough to describe his contribution to our world: a lot of us know who we are because of what Bowie has contributed to our lives through the utter mastery of his work for over five decades.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bowie's family and friends.
