Did You Catch The NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Easter Egg in ASH VS. EVIL DEAD?

Ash Vs. Evil Dead was one of the most enjoyable shows that I watched last year. I absolutely loved every part of that show, and it entertained the hell out of me! It was filled with so many insane unexpected things, and I couldn't get enough of it. I seriously can't wait for Season 2!

For those of you who don't know, Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi and A Nightmare on Elm Street creator Wes Craven have played with each other's properties in their films.

It began in Raimi’s original Evil Dead film when he included a poster of Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes:

That was followed up by Craven adding footage from Evil Dead in the first A Nightmare on Elm Street film:

The main character Nancy in Nightmare on Elmstreet can be seen watching Evil Dead while she is in her bedroom.

After that, Raimi went ahead and took things to a new level by bringing Freddy’s universe into Evil Dead II with Freddy's glove:

The homage to Craven continued in Ash Vs. Evil Dead with this:

I spotted it right away and knew exactly what it meant. This is no random prop. This is something Raimi has enjoyed doing over the years. I know it doesn't look exactly like Freddy's glove, especially without the blades, but that's exactly what it represents. I'm sure they didn't go full Freddy glove to avoid any copyright issues.

Ash and Freddy have crossed paths several times in comic books, which also included Jason Voorhees. At one point they tried to get a Ash vs. Freddy vs. Jason movie off the ground, but it never happened. Why, you ask? Because New Line wouldn't let Ash kill Freddy or Jason, and I think we all agree, that's what would have needed to happen.

It's cool to see Raimi keeping the tradition alive.
