Director Rupert Wyatt Bails on Channing Tatum's GAMBIT Solo Film
Is Channing Tatum's Gambit movie cursed? It's beginning to look that way. Various high profile directors passed on it before Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt finally signed on a few months ago, and now Deadline reports that Wyatt is leaving the project. No further details are known at the moment, but this is another blow for the movie, which has Tatum set to produce and star as the Cajun mutant scoundrel and Lea Seydoux as the female lead, Bella Donna Boudreaux.
With so little information to go on, we're left wondering what the heck is wrong with this project that's causing so much behind-the-scenes trouble with bringing it to life. Is it simply bad luck, or could it be an awful script that has people nervous about being associated with the property? That's pure speculation on my part, but hopefully we'll hear more details soon.
