Disney is Moving Forward with Dwayne Johnson's JUNGLE CRUISE Movie
Back in 2015 Disney announced that they would be developing a big screen adaptation of the classic Disneyland attraction Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson.
The studio is now finally set to move forward with the project because Johnson has finally found room in his crazy busy schedule. That guy is a non-stop working machine! According to THR, the movie will start production in the spring of 2018, which mean they are setting it up for a big release in 2019.
Jungle Cruise is one of the Disneyland’s original rides and takes passengers on a journey through Africa’s Nile and Congo rivers as well as South America’s Amazon jungle. It's packed full of animatronic animals and the expedition is led by a very cheesy tour guide that cracks the most wonderfully ridiculous jokes along the way.
There are no details on the story for the film and there's no director attached to the project yet, but I'm sure Disney will fill that position soon.
Johnson is set to start production on Rampage next and after that he'll take on the action-thriller Skyscraper. Jungle Cruise will be the next movie on his schedule. We'll next see Johnson in the new reboot of Jumanji, which looks great!
