District 13 Unifies in Cool HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2 Teaser Trailer
The Comic-Con panel for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 kicked off with a new teaser trailer for the film that featuring Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) leading an army against The Capitol in a District 13 propaganda video. The promo trailer is actually pretty awesome, and it got the crowd in Hall H pumped up even more for the film. Of course, it didn't hurt having a live drum-core band on hand to open up the panel.
Lionsgate also showed us a spectacular new trailer. That's not going to be released online for a while though, so you'll just have to wait. We'll have a write-up of the panel and a full description of the new trailer for you later, so stay tuned for that.
This final installment of The Hunger Games franchise is looks like it could actually be the best one yet. I haven't read the books, but it looks like the story is going to have a strong conclusion. Maybe it's just the Comic-Con geek endorphins kicking in, but the new trailer and panel got me more excited than I've ever been for one of these films.
With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
The movie will be released in theaters on November 20th!
