Dominic Purcell Joins The CW's ARROW/FLASH Spin-Off
A few weeks ago, we wrote about how The CW is developing an untitled "superhero team-up show" that will be a spin-off of Arrow and The Flash starring Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber, and Caity Lotz. Now Deadline reports that the network is bringing in another superhero alum to join the cast: Dominic Purcell will reprise his role as Heat Wave in the new show.
If this show goes to series (which seems likely, considering the popularity of both Arrow and The Flash as well as superhero stuff in general right now), this will be the first series regular jobs for Purcell and Miller, who famously worked together on the Fox series Prison Break. But if you're wondering if Robbie Amell, who plays the other half of Firestorm opposite Garber, will also be suiting up for this show...well, there's some bad news. Deadline says Amell "did not sign for this project," which implies that there was indeed a place for him there and he turned it down.
Either way, this spin-off show is still slated to feature three "major" DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a TV series before. That actually rules out a ton of characters, considering how many of them have popped up in small roles on shows like Smallville, The Brave and the Bold, and more. Which "major" characters are even left at this point?
