Doug Jones Joins ARROW as a Villain!
I'm excited to report that fan favorite character actor Doug Jones has joined the cast of Arrow! He will be taking on the villainous role of Jake Simmons a.k.a. Deathbolt.
The character was first introduced in the comic book universe in 1983 in All-Star Squadron #21. He has the power to manipulate electricity, and because of that he was also called “the living battery.” According to IGN, in the series, Simmons will be "a metahuman with the ability to harness and weaponize plasma energy."
Jones has appeared in several comic book-type movies over the years include Abe Sapien in the Hellboy films, as well as Batman Returns, Tank Girl, Mystery Men, Men in Black II, and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
It's always fun to see Jones pop up in films, TV series, and shorts. You'll be able to see him as Deathbolt in the 19th episode of Season 3, which is called “Broken Arrow.”
