Dwayne Johnson Confirmes DC Comics Role, Is It Shazam?

Dwayne Johnson and Warner Bros. have been looking for a DC comics superhero film project for him to be involved with for years. Rumors of it started back in 2012, but according to the actor there is going to be an official announcement very soon. During an interview with Total Film, Johnson confirmed that he will be playing a superhero character, and it seems like he's saying that he's going to play Shazam. Here's the quote:

"I will say this. There's a character out there that we're going to announce very soon that I'm going to play, and I'll just say this: This character has the power of Superman, he can throw down. Just say the word. That's all I'm going to say."

About a month ago, the studio's comic book movie line-up leaked out, and there was a Shazam solo film booked for release in July of 2016. I assume WB will announce the project and casting during their panel at Comic-Con this weekend.

If this turns out to be the case, Johnson is definitely an interesting choice to take on this superhero character. As much as I like Johnson though, it's hard to imagine him as Shazam. Can you see him taking on this character? I guess I'd have to see him in costume.

You can watch the interview with him below talking about the opportunity to play a DC character.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson all but reveals his DC movie role, and very heavily teases a possible 'Shazam' movie.
