Dwayne Johnson Will Star in An Action-Comedy For EASY A Director

I'm a big Dwayne Johnson fan. I think he's one of the most charismatic performers in Hollywood, and even when he's not making movies or TV shows, he keeps his fans entertained with his social media presence. But I have to admit, I'm just a little bit wary of his next project.

Deadline reports that he'll star in an action comedy film for Easy A director Will Gluck that's being described as "a throwback to those mismatched buddy action comedies like Lethal Weapon, Midnight Run and 48 Hours." And because Johnson (aka "Franchise Viagra") is involved, the hope is that this kicks off a new film franchise. Further details are slim, but The Expendables and Zombieland 2 writer David Callaham is writing the screenplay.

That doesn't sound terrible by any means, but Johnson already has a mismatched buddy action comedy in the pipeline with Central Intelligence, which co-stars Kevin Hart. I'm just hoping he continues to expand his career and doesn't start repeating himself too much. (I still hope to see him win an Oscar one day, because I think he has the potential to make a big impact in a dramatic film, but I'm not even sure if that's something Johnson is interested in.) What do you think? Do you want to see him in another buddy action comedy?
