Elizabeth Banks Set to Play Rita Repulsa in New POWER RANGERS Movie
Elizabeth Banks will play the main villain Rita Repulsa in director Dean Israelite's upcoming Power Rangers movie. My first reaction to hearing the news was that she is perfect for the part! It's not hard to imagine her taking on this crazy villainous role. Banks has the talent to bring the insanity of this character to life on the big screen.
So far she is the biggest actor to sign onto the project. She will join relative newcomers RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott, and Dacre Montgomery. They are playing the teens that become infused with extraterrestrial powers and end up forming the Power Rangers team, who must stop the world from being conquered by Rita Repulsa.
The script for the film was written by X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz so that gives me hope that the movie will be decent. The movie hits theaters on January 13th, 2017.
