Emilia Clarke to Star in THE BEAUTY INSIDE for X-MEN: THE NEW MUTANTS Writers
Looks like the Mother of Dragons has scored another headlining gig in a big screen romance. Following her work in last year's Me Before You, Deadline reports that Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will star in The Beauty Inside, a remake of a 2015 Korean film "about a man who wakes up in a different body each day and has to stay connected to the woman he loves." Um...what now? Let's take a look at the Korean film's trailer:
From that logline, I inferred that this would be sort of a 50 First Dates sort of situation, in which the woman isn't aware that it's the same person inside all of these different identities. But I'm pretty sure that trailer makes it clear that the woman knows what's going on from the start — and what I'm really interested in is seeing her initial reaction to this bizarre revelation. Hopefully this movie at least touches on that.
The remake will be written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the writing duo behind 500 Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now, The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, and the upcoming X-Men: The New Mutants. They have a pretty solid track record with big screen romances, so let's hope their collaboration with Khaleesi is just as memorable. Fox 2000 spent $2 million for this pitch, beating out Universal, STX, New Line, Sony, and Lionsgate in a bidding war, so they certainly have high hopes for The Beauty Inside. Hopefully Neustadter and Weber can deliver.
