EUPHORIA Officially Ends With Season 3 as HBO Confirms the Series Is Over

After seven years, three seasons, and 26 episodes, HBO’s hit drama Euphoria has officially reached the end of the road.

The news was confirmed by series creator Sam Levinson, who revealed during an appearance on the New York Times' Popcast podcast that the recently aired Season 3 finale, “In God We Trust,” also served as the show's final episode. HBO later confirmed the announcement.

While the confirmation makes it official, it probably won’t come as a shock to longtime fans. Questions about the future of Euphoria have been lingering for years, especially following the lengthy gap between Seasons 2 and 3.

Nearly four years passed between installments, and during that time many of the show's stars saw their careers explode, becoming some of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood.

Series lead Zendaya had already hinted in previous interviews that she believed Season 3 would be the show's final chapter. Production on the season also faced significant delays, something that had been widely reported as schedules, creative decisions, and other factors complicated the series' return.

Levinson himself seemed uncertain about continuing beyond Season 3 even before the season premiered. He explained his mindset when approaching the series: “I write every season like it’s the last.”

When asked directly about the possibility of a fourth season, Levinson didn't offer much encouragement for fans hoping for more:

“I don’t know. As of right now, all I want to do is hang out with my wife and kids and read some Elmore Leonard and watch ‘Mrs. Miniver’ again.”

That comment now feels like a pretty clear indication of where things were headed. Euphoria followed a group of teenagers dealing with addiction, relationships, identity, trauma, friendship, social media pressures, and the complicated realities of growing up.

The series became one of HBO’s most talked-about shows, earning critical acclaim, awards recognition, and a devoted fan base.

Season 3 took the story in a different direction with a time jump that moved the characters beyond their high school years. According to HBO’s official description, the new season saw them “wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption and the problem of evil.”

Alongside Zendaya, the ensemble cast featured Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, and Colman Domingo.

Love it or hate it, Euphoria became one of HBO’s defining shows of the last decade. Its style, performances, and willingness to tackle difficult subject matter made it impossible to ignore.

Now, with “In God We Trust” serving as the official finale, the story has come to a close and fans can finally stop wondering whether another season is still on the way.
