EX MACHINA's Alicia Vikander In Talks For ASSASSIN'S CREED and BOURNE 5
About a week ago, we wrote about how up-and-coming actress Alicia Vikander was set to join Tom Hanks in a new tech thriller called The Circle. Well, it seems that some studio executives have finally gotten around to seeing her breakout performance in Ex Machina, because Deadline reports that she's now in talks for roles in both Assassin's Creed and the new Bourne film. But when one door opens, another closes, and it seems as if The Circle is in need of a new leading lady.
There's no word on who Vikander would play in either of the two new films, but with buzz surrounding her being at an all-time high right now, it seems a certainty that she'll have substantial parts in both projects. Paul Greengrass is directing Matt Damon once again in the upcoming Bourne sequel, while Assassin's Creed would reunite her with Michael Fassbender, with whom she co-starred in The Place Beyond The Pines director Derek Cianfrance's new movie The Light Between Oceans. Vikander was phenomenal in Ex Machina, and I'm hoping she's able to continue starring in high-profile projects like these.
Because of tight scheduling, the young actress would have to bail from The Circle, but producers have reportedly put an offer out to Emma Watson to replace her, and seeing Watson and Hanks square off sounds like a very intriguing prospect.
