Extreme Teaser Trailer and Poster for POINT BREAK Remake
Update: The full domestic trailer has also been released. Watch it at the very bottom of this page.
Warner Bros. has released an international teaser trailer and poster for their Point Break remake. As you will see in the footage, it’s trying to get the point across that this is going to be an extremely adrenaline-fueled heist movie. The poster gives off the same vibe as the Furious 7 poster with the cars driving out of the back of the plane, only this one isn’t as cool. On top of that they are losing all their money! That's a terrible plan.
The action-thriller stars Luke Bracey, who is taking on the role of FBI agent Johnny Utah, the character previously played by Keanu Reeves. Then there's Edgar Ramirez who is taking on the role of criminal mastermind Bodhi, previously played by Patrick Swayze.
Some additional footage of the film was recently screened for press at CinemaCon, and it seemed like a lot of people were unimpressed. It might be a fun movie to watch, but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be as good as the original movie. The big wave stuff in the teaser is pretty epic, but nothing here tells us if the story is actually going to be good.
Here’s the synopsis:
In Alcon Entertainment’s fast-paced, high-adrenaline action thriller Point Break, a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill seeking elite athletes, led by the charismatic Bodhi (Ramirez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a string of staggering crimes that kill innocent people and send the world’s economy into a tailspin.
Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the callous architects of these inconceivable crimes.
The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. These action adventure feats are performed by extreme athletes representing the world’s best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling.
Point Break also co-stars Teresa Palmer, Ray Winstone, Delroy Lindo, and Tobias Santelmann. It’s set to be released in the US on Christmas Day. Are you looking forward to this?
