FAST AND FURIOUS 7 Could Scrap Production and Start Over
In the wake of Paul Walker's untimely and tragic death, Universal Pictures has been trying to figure out what to do with Fast and Furious 7. As you know the movie was in the middle of production, and it doesn't seem like the producers and filmmakers can figure out how to work around Walker's character.
According to The Wrap, Fast and Furious 7 producers are now considering scrapping the entire film and starting over from the beginning, which seems like the best course of action. They go on to say that the "studio is insured for unexpected losses such as this one, the cost of scrapping the production is not a central factor. The studio would likely be made whole on that cost." If they did that, the film would not include Walker at at all.
This week the studio, the producers, and director James Wan have been constantly discussing ideas of what they could do. This is just one of several options being considered at the moment, but no final decision has been made yet.
What do you think the studio should do?
