Macbeth is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of Shakespeare’s most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn 11th Century Scotland.

During an interview with The Guardian, director Justin Kurzel was asked if he thinks Evil exists in regards to the story of Macbeth, and he said:

“Yeah. I do. I think there’s a precipice that we stand on looking down on it, and it’s paper thin. We know we can’t come back if we jump, but we’re drawn to it anyway. That’s why Macbeth is so popular. The madness.”

The movie is set to be released on December 4th..

Stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, and director Justin Kurzel, talk about making a new screen version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. In UK cinemas from 2nd October 2015.
