Felicity Jones' ROGUE ONE Character's Name Possibly Revealed
The next Star Wars film that is set to be released is Gareth Edward's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and it comes out later this year! I'm super excited about this one because it's a heist film that revolves around a team of resistance fighters who band together to steal the plans to the Empire's Death Star. There's still a lot we don't know about this movie, but Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy previously said:
“Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to theStar Wars universe. It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth is such an innovative director and I’m so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary ensemble cast he’s selected for Rogue One."
We now have a small bit of information to add to what we know. Apparently, Making Star Wars and Daisy Ridley Fan know the name of Felicity Jones's character in the film. That name is Lyra Erso. They claim to have gotten it from a casting site:
"The role is doubled by a white female actor, Gabriele Fritz. She is playing the photo double for a character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
It doesn't seem like there is any particular relevance to this character's name. So as of right now it's just a name. It's a small bit of information for a big film that fans are excited about.
Jones is joined by Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, and Mads Mikkelsen. With Rogue One coming out later this year, there's no doubt we'll start seeing more and more stuff from this movie, so stay tuned!
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to be released on December 16th, 2016.
