First Look at Bruce Timm's JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS Animated Film

Last year it was announced that Batman: The Animated Series talent Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett would be developing a new DC animated feature called Justice League: Gods and Monsters. Today we have our first look at what we can expect to see in it, and holy crap! It's not what I was expecting.

We knew that the series would give us a much darker take on the Justice League, but I wasn't expecting these radical character designs for Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman that we see in these images.

According to the press release, the movie will "explore a newly conceived reality in the DC Universe where Justice League members Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are much darker versions of the Super Heroes that people think they know."

Thanks to Nerds on the Rocks, we also have some additional details on these characters we will be introduced to in the story.

"Superman of this world is the son of General Zod. He is a bit more violent. Well a lot more violent, and has seen the ugliness of mankind being raised by migrate farmers.
"Batman is not Bruce Wayne. Instead, it is Kirk Langstrom, who has cancer. And in trying to find a cure injects himself with Bat-venom becoming a pseudo-vampire. He feeds on criminals to cure his bloodlust.
"Wonder Woman seems to be of the 'New Gods' She marries Orion but something goes wrong there and she comes to Earth."

These images come from a trailer for the film that is apparently attached to the upcoming animated film Batman Vs. Robin, which comes out on April 14th. The Justice League: Gods and Monsters film will be followed by a miniseries called "Chronicles."

I'm really excited to see how this new flick turns out!
