First Look at Duncan Jones' Sci-Fi Noir Film MUTE with Paul Rudd and Alexander Skarsgård

The first photos from Duncan Jones' (Moon, Warcraft) long-awaited sci-fi noir film Mute have been released by Netflix. These photos offer us a look at the visual style of the film and also show us Alexander Skarsgård (The Legend of Tarzan) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) in their roles. The movie also stars Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) and Seyneb Saleh.

Jones has said time and time again that this movie was heavily inspired by Blade Runner, and you can definitely see the influence of that film in these photos. Here's the story summary that was released:

Set in the near-future, Leo (Skarsgård) is a bartender living in the pulsing city of Berlin. Because of a childhood accident, Leo lost the ability to speak and the only good thing in his life is his beautiful girlfriend Naadirah (Saleh). When she vanishes without a trace, Leo’s search for her takes him deep into the city’s seedy underbelly. A pair of wise-cracking American surgeons (Rudd and Theroux) are the only recurring clue and Leo is forced to take on this teeming underworld in order to find his love.

As a fan of Jones and his work, I'm excited to see this movie. I like what I'm seeing in these photos, and I can't wait to see this story play out. Mute will be released on Netflix sometime later this year.
