FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S Movie Will Be Directed by Gil Kenan
The big screen adaptation of the creepy-ass video game Five Nights at Freddy’s has found its director, and he’s the perfect guy for the job! Gil Kenan is set to helm the film. This is the director who brought us the CG animated horror film Monster House and the recently released Poltergeist remake.
The guy has a way with telling horror stories, and Five Nights at Freddy’s fits right into his filmmaking style. I loved Monster House, and Poltergeist was actually a decent film for a remake. There were aspects of it that I really liked.
The game was created by Scott Cawthon, and it takes place in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which is a darker, and more terrifying version of Chuck-E-Cheese. During the day, the animatronic animal band performs kiddy songs, but when night hits they turn into furry death machines and go on horrific murderous rampages. The goal of the game is to survive a night locked inside.
Kenan will not only direct the film, but he will also write the script with Tyler Burton Smith. There’s no doubt that he’s going to have a lot of fun bring this movie to life.
