Some gameplay footage from a cool-looking canceled Marvel video game titled The Avengers has surfaced online. The footage shows off Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor in action as they are battling the Skrulls.

This was an older first-person co-op game that was being developed for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC at THQ Studio Australia. It was supposed to be released around the time that the first Avengers movie was released, but the gaming studio ended up closing down. It looks like it would have been a lot of fun, and there’s no doubt that fans would have flipped over it at the time.

While the game would have been released around the same time as the Avengers movie, this game didn’t really have anything to do with that story. The game would have instead focused on an adaptation of the Secret Invasion storyline from the comics.

The footage was shared by Andrew Borman, who works as a Digital Games Curator at the Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, and he enjoys sharing cool stuff like this when he can. He said in a statement:

"This is footage from an early build of THQ's The Avengers, running on Xbox 360. It was recovered from a harddrive over on ObscureGamers, and is missing many of the files that may have once been included, if they ever made it to an Xbox 360 build."

Check out the footage in the two videos below and let us know what you think!
