Four New Photos From BATMAN V SUPERMAN and One Teases Darkseid
Four new photos have been released for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and one of them teases Darkseid. As you can see in the image above, Batman is looking over a post-apocalyptic world, and there is a giant omega symbol embedded in the ground in front of him. This suggests that Darkseid could appear in the upcoming DC film.
Darkseid is the ruler of planet Apokolips, and he's hellbent on taking over the universe and making everyone's life a living hell. He is one of the Justice League's greatest adversaries, so it would make sense to eventually introduce him into the DCEU. I don't think he'll play a big part in Batman v Superman, but I'm pretty confident that they will set him up for the Justice League films. We don't know for sure yet.
The images come from Empire, who interviewed producer Charles Roven, and he explained that Batman has become a hardened and enraged crimefighter.
"[Batman] is not giving people a chance. He is more than a vigilante. He has become not only the cop, if you will, he has also become the jury and executioner. He’s older, [and] he’s seen the worst of what man can do. He’s been darkened by it, he’s tougher, he’s angrier, I guess. He’s still lost those that are near and dear to him, and not necessarily from old age or disease."
I love this take on Batman that they are rolling with. I'm excited to see how it all actually works in the story of this movie. Batman v Superman hits theaters on March 25th, 2016.
