Fox Wants to Bring Back THE X-FILES!

TV The X-FilesFox by Joey Paur

The X-Files is hands down one of my favorite shows of all time, and since the series ended in 2002 I’ve been wishing that one day it would make a comeback on TV. I’m so freakin’ excited to tell you that this might actually happen!

Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman made the announcement at the channel’s TCA presentation, where he says that they are discussing the opportunity to revive Chris Carter’s brilliant sci-fi show as a limited series, much like they did with 24. Newman said that they want to bring back David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to reprise their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. There's no confirmation that they will return, but I sure hope they do. The X-Files just wouldn’t be The X-Files without them.

Over the last few years the two actors have both said that they would love to reprise their roles, so if this actually goes through, I think that it's safe to assume that they will be jumping on for the ride. I actually like the idea of a limited series more than seeing another movie. They will be able to tell a much bigger and more in-depth story through a limited series event.

There are no other details at this point, but it would be the most incredible thing if the revival actually went through. Please, oh please, let this happen! You can bet your ass I'll be keeping you updated on this news as it develops.
