Full Trailer for AMC’s PREACHER Series
Last night during The Walking Dead, AMC premiered the first full trailer for their TV adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s 1990s comic book series Preacher. It’s been a long time since I’ve read the comic, but the series looks really good regardless of the fact that it will deviate from the source material.
The series tells the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), “a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.”
The series was developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This Is the End, Superbad, Neighbors) and showrunner Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad). It seems like they may have pulled off a great series. I loved what I saw in this trailer, but we’ll find out soon enough if they really succeeded with their adaptation.
The series is set to premiere sometime in mid-2016.
