GAME OF THRONES Actor Iwan Rheon Will Star in Marvel's THE INHUMANS
Marvel has cast their leading man in their upcoming ambitious series Inhumans. Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon has been cast in the role of Maximus in the series. Thanks to THR, we have some details on the version of the character in the series, saying:
Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family. In the eight-episode straight-to-series drama, Maximus is a clever and charming Inhuman that is fiercely devoted to the people of Attilan, especially his brother, the King — though he harbors an intense desire to wear the crown himself.
In a statement, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb said:
"Iwan's ability to be charming, roguish and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life. We’re thrilled to have him on board," Marvel TV head Loeb said.
The showrunner of the series, Scott Buck adds:
"Maximus is a complex character. Likable, charming, tragic and villainous all in the same moment, and I’m very excited to have someone of Iwan’s considerable talent."
After seeing what he did on Game of Thrones as the asshole character Ramsay Bolton, the guy seems absolutely perfect for this new role!
Feature director Roel Reine (Death Race 2, The Marine 2, The Lost Tribe, The Scorpion King 3) is set to helm the first two episodes of the series, which will be shot in IMAX and premiere in IMAX theaters on Labor Day weekend. The series will then start its eight-episode run on ABC on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017. All eight episodes are expected to run on the network over consecutive Tuesdays, which means that the finale will air on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017.
