GAME OF THRONES Getting HBO Aftershow AFTER THE THRONES For Season 6

HBO is getting into the aftershow business.

Following in the footsteps of AMC's The Talking Dead and Talking Bad, the premium network is launching an aftershow for its own wildly successful series, Game of Thrones, called After The Thrones. This is the first show that's part of the network's collaboration with former Grantlander Bill Simmons, who will executive produce while Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan, the hosts of Grantland's Watch The Thrones podcast, take hosting duties. The first episode will debut on April 25th, a day after the season six premiere of Game of Thrones, and it sounds like all of the new episodes will follow that same pattern of airing the Monday after each new episode of GOT.

I've never heard Greenwald and Ryan's previous podcast, so I'm not sure what kind of hosts they'll be, but I have to admit that I was a little relieved to hear Chris Hardwick doesn't have anything to do with this aftershow. I'm pretty much Hardwicked out at this point.

Each week, AFTER THE THRONES will recap the latest episode, explaining the who, what, when and where, exploring the complicated politics and history of “Thrones,” and offering absurd and not-so-absurd theories about future episodes. Greenwald and Ryan will discuss the show as only they can.

Are you going to tune in?
