Google Drops Cool New Google Chromecast with Google TV for $50

Google recently launched the new Google Chromecast with Google TV for $50. The new device does everything you love about your current Chromecast (like play videos from your phone to your TV), but with the added bonus of Google TV. It features 4K HDR video up to 60 frames-per-second with Dolby Vision. Oh, and there’s HDMI pass-through for Dolby audio content.

So, what’s the more that I was talking about? Well for starters, it comes with a remote. The remote includes a microphone for use with Google Assistant. Of course, the biggest addition is Google TV. This feature allows you to sign into your favorite streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, but then the libraries are put together on one screen so you don’t have to hop from app to app. This is a beautiful feature that hopefully works brilliantly in practice. There will also be a For You tab that will provide personalized recommendations for what to watch next. In addition, YouTube TV will let you watch live television from over 85 channels as long as you have broadband internet (and a $65/month subscription). Oh, and support for Google Stadia will be available in the first half of 2021.

The Google Chromecast with Google TV will be available in three colors: Snow, Sunrise, and Sky, and is available now in the United States. If you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the U.K., you can pre-order yours now and it’ll be available on October 15.

This is the new Chromecast with Google TV. Bringing you the entertainment you love, in up to 4K, all in one place. ⏰Spend less time jumping from one streamin...
