HBO's New Animated Series ANIMALS Might Have The Funniest Voice Cast of All Time
Deadline reports that HBO has given a two season order to a new animated comedy called Animals that hails from executive producers Jay and Mark Duplass. And as the headline teased, I think this voice cast may be the funniest group of people ever assembled for a single show. Get a load of these names:
Aziz Ansari, Nick Kroll, Mark Duplass, Kate Aselton, Rob Corddry, Ellie Kemper, Marc Maron, Ike Barinholtz, Jason Mantzoukas, Nathan Fielder, Paul Scheer, Matt Walsh, Chelsea Peretti, Zach Woods, and Adam Scott. Holy crap, that's a lot of talented people. It's like UCB's greatest hits all coming together in the same show.
The show is the brainchild of Phil Matarese & Mike Luciano, who wrote and directed the whole first season, which is in post-production right now. Here's the synopsis:
Animals revolves around the downtrodden creatures native to Earth’s least habitable environment: New York City. Whether it’s lovelorn rats, gender-questioning pigeons or aging bedbugs in the midst of a midlife crisis, the awkward small talk, moral ambiguity and existential woes of non-human urbanites prove startlingly similar to our own.
Animals will debut on HBO sometime in 2016. What do you think?
