Hey Hollywood! Make a CABIN IN THE WOODS Sequel!

(Note: This article contains spoilers for Cabin in the Woods.)

So, do you ever notice when a horror movie comes out, there are always sequels to it? Especially if it's popular, and sometimes if it's not (cough cough, Leprechaun, cough cough). Still, in a world where we have some of the most famous monsters facing off against space and "the hood," there is one horror movie sequel I'd like to see: Cabin in the Woods.

What? You ask incredulously. But Bryam, everyone in that movie died. The bad guy wins. Evil takes over the earth. Yeah, I know, and what better place to start than there?

My idea for a Cabin in the Woods sequel would be a big post-apocalyptic movie, but the apocalypse is of the horrors of another dimension variety. Imagine a small group of scientists and lore-keepers holed up somewhere trying to figure out a way to stop the apocalypse that began at the end of Cabin in the Woods. A small rebellion trying to fight the endless onslaught of nightmares, demons, and unicorns.

Now imagine that they discover the only way to reverse it is with five new teens who fit the sacrificial pawns, but instead of being victims, they have to play the heroes. These five new college students have to go to war with the monsters that now control and rule our earth.

Not only would it be great to see a nightmarish apocalypse with monsters that vary from mermen to psycho-clowns roaming the earth, but it would also allow for the movie to throw a genre on its head all over again, do for the zombie apocalypse genre what Cabin in the Woods did for the horror slasher genre. Only the zombie apocalypse is more than just zombies, it's nightmares of all shapes and sizes, and only a small band of heroes can take them all on. It would be like Resident Evil meets World War Z with a mix of LSD.

Even if you decide not to connect it to Cabin in the Woods, I'd still love to see a movie like this.  A movie that begins only if the heroes lost. They didn't make the sacrifice that was required, and so the monsters conquered earth. Technically, in a way that's how Star Wars kinda started, and it was arguably good, maybe even great.

So let's make this happen, Hollywood! Make Cabin in the Woods 2. Maybe call it Wasteland on the Earth. Not the greatest title, but whatever. Just make it.
