An intense trailer has been released for Ryan Reynold's new psychological thriller Captives, and it looks really good. The movie comes from director Atom Egoyan (Chloe, The Devil Knot), and it also stars Scott Speedman, Mireille Enos, Rosario Dawson, Kevin Durand, Alexia Fast, and Bruce Greenwood.
The story follows Matthew (Reynolds) and Tina (Enos), "a couple torn apart by the circumstances behind the mysterious disappearance of their daughter, who seems to be alive in captivity eight years later with her unknown location being broadcast online, leaving official perplexed as they attempt to find her."
I've always enjoyed Reynolds as an actor, but he's had a long streak of bad films. The best movie I've seen him recently was The Voices up at Sundance, but this looks like it's a great project for him too. He just needs to make Deadpool already. The movie is set to premiere at Cannes Film Festival. There's no word yet on when we will get to see it.
