IRON FIST Hires Jessica Henwick, Another GAME OF THRONES Alum, To Play Colleen Wing

Marvel and Netflix's Iron Fist has grabbed another cast member.

The producers already hired Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones to play Danny Rand (aka Iron Fist), and now they've hired Jessica Henwick, another actor from the HBO series, to play Colleen Wing. (Henwick plays Nymeria Sand on GOT and also had a very small role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.)

A martial arts expert running her own dojo, Colleen will serve as an invaluable ally to Danny Rand as he returns to his life in New York. In the comics, Colleen first appeared in MARVEL PREMIERE #19 as one of Danny’s first friends after he left K’un-L’un.

Colleen teamed up with Misty Knight in the comics to form a company called Nightwing Restorations, Ltd. after her grandfather trained her as a samurai. You can read much more about the character here.

“I’m very excited to have Jessica as our Colleen Wing,” said Executive Producer and Showrunner, Scott Buck. “She’s shown us that she can bring both a sense of quiet strength as well as an engaging vulnerability to the character.”
“Jessica brings both a youthful vitality mixed with a strong sense of authority crucial to the character,” said Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “And as anyone who’s seen her in ‘Game of Thrones’ can attest, she can throw down with the best of them, making her the perfect Colleen Wing.”

Iron Fist doesn't have an official release date yet, but since Luke Cage is coming up in September, it's probably a safe bet that we won't see this new show until sometime in 2017.
