Iron Man Mark XXXVI Peacemaker Armor Sideshow Action Figure Review

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 was loaded with all kinds of crazy awesome suits of tech armor created by Tony Stark. We saw a lot of them in action during the climatic battle near the end of the movie. One of them was the Mark XXXVI, which is also known as the Peacemaker.

Sideshow Collectibles sent me the Hot Toys 1/6 scale collectible action figure to review, and this figure is freakin’ badass! The first thing that grabbed my attention about the armor was the color. I’m a sucker for the metallic orange mixed with the metallic dark grey and silver colors; it just gives the burly armor an insanely cool look. Especially with the distressed wear and tear effects that give it the illusion that it has seen some action. I always customized my Halo characters with these colors, and I even mix the colors up with a lot of the clothes I wear, so I'm a big fan.

This is one of my favorite armor designs. It’s a riot control suit that was developed by Stark to help instill peace within a community. If a situation ever arose where a riot broke out, this armor would be used to stop and control it.

The weaponry of the Mark XXXVI includes non-lethal sonic Repulsors that are attached to the armor's main Repulsors. The sonic Repulsors are used to disarm a crowd and maintain order by the powerful sonic waves that can emit from them. Then there’s the Unibeam, which is vertical and rectangular in shape. It protrudes out of the chest piece, and can be used as a powerful weapon which uses a standard blast of energy output. The suit also includes the standard Repulsor technology which it uses to fly and flight stabilization.

My wife said I looked like a little kid on Christmas morning playing with this thing on my living room floor. She even snapped a picture of me that I thought looked absolutely hilarious because it really does look exactly the way that she described it to me. I included that photo at the very bottom of the post so you can all have a laugh.

I was floored by the amount of detail that this action figure was loaded with. It’s fully poseable, and the way it's built is pretty amazing. There are a lot of movable parts in this figure, and they way they all connect and operate with each other in their movement is impressive. It’s also got some great looking LED light-up functions that make the figure pop with awesomeness. The figure also comes with two sets of interchangeable hands and a sturdy light-up stand. The photos for this thing look cool, but seeing it up close and being able to play with it is so much cooler!

This is just an incredibly slick looking figure that is a must-own for anyone who is collecting these Iron Man armors. The 1/6th Iron Man Mark XXXVI Peacemaker armor will cost you $269.99 and you can order one by clicking here.

In the picture below, I had just gotten back from a long trip covering the Sundance Film Festival. I got three hours of sleep before waking up and busting out the Peacemaker action figure to play with. That's my daughter Kali in the background.
