Is The Original Wasp From ANT-MAN Still Alive? We Have Answers

This article contains SPOILERS for Ant-Man, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, you might want to steer clear.

When Scott Lang entered the Quantum Realm during the climactic end sequence of Ant-Man and then came out of it alive and well, I knew right away that Hank Pym's wife Janet Van Dyne, a.k.a. Wasp, would find her way out or be rescued. Apparently Janet can actually be seen in the Quantum Realm when Ant-Man is going through it.

In an interview with Cinemablend, Evangeline Lilly is asked if she thinks Janet is alive, and this is her response:

"Marvel hasn’t told me, but I kind of, again, fabricating my own… I think that she could be and that it could be a great, I mean, I would love to see a storyline where Hope somehow, I don’t know, tries to find her mom or meets her or something happens where there’s some amazing reunion. I think that would be super cool, and I have my dream casting already, for my mom."

That dream casting for her is Michelle Pfeiffer, which would be great if Marvel went that route. Now Marvel may not have told Lilly if Janet would be back, but studio president Kevin Feige told us! During a press conference he was asked point blank if the character would appear in future Marvel films, and this was his reply:

"If we get to tell more stories, we have stories with her in them, yes."

So there you have it: Janet is still alive, and there is an Easter egg in the film in which you can see her when Lang jumps into the Quantum Realm. When talking to io9, director Peyton Reed teased:

"I don’t know if you caught any of the imagery as Scott is going down into the quantum realm, you might be able, on repeat viewing and definitely when you get the Blu-ray, there’s something the audience can see down there that Scott doesn’t see, that, may play a larger role."

I've seen the movie twice already, and if there was something there I completely missed it. There are fans though who claim to have seen something small with wings on the right-hand side of the screen, which Lang is "falling into the Quantum Realm.” There was also this description:

"For a quick second you see a silhouette appear in the reflection of Scott's helmet. There are two quick flashes of it. I saw it last night and flipped my shit. I obviously assumed it was Janet."

I guess I'm just going to have to see the movie again! Reed doesn't specify that this is Wasp, so it could very well also fall into the Doctor Strange category.

We know that Janet will eventually come back, but how will she return? Hank Pym says that space-time is meaningless in the Quantum Realm, so when she comes back, she might not have aged at all. She could come back the same age as she did when she went sub-atomic, which means Lilly's dream casting of Michelle Pfeiffer would be out of the question.

Did any of you see any of these things in the movie during the scene in question?
