James Cameron Has a Script For a Fifth AVATAR Movie

We already know that James Cameron is developing three more sequels for his Avatar franchise, and he has a team of writers working on them. If everything stays on track, these films will be released each year beginning in 2017.

Now it seems like the story of Avatar has spilled over into a script for a fourth sequel. The news comes from composer James Horner, who worked on films with Cameron such as Titanic, Avatar, and Aliens. So is there a chance we might end up seeing five Avatar films? Well, probably not.

Horner revealed that Cameron is trying to take the story for this fifth film and condense it back into the planned three sequels that he's working on. Here's the quote from an interview with Hey U Guys:

"Right now Jim has four sequels, script wise. And he’s trying to make it into three. And that is where, I think, his effort is going right now. To keep it to three sequels. Because he’s got so much going on how do you keep it from expanding into a fifth movie, total. And he’ll get that sorted out."

One of the last things that we heard from Cameron about these movies is when he enthusiastically said:

“I can tell you one thing about them. They’re gonna be bitchin’. You will shit yourself with your mouth wide open.”

Cameron's writing team consists of Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno, and I'm sure they are all hard at work trying to figure out how to make what Cameron wants work. If you can, check out the video interview with Horner below:

During the junket for Titanic Live at the Royal Albert Hall, Titanic and Avatar composer tells us that Director James Cameron has a script for a fourth sequel (fifth movie) to the highest grossing movie of all time. "He's got 4 sequels script-wise, and he's trying to make it into three.
