James Wan to Adapt MALIGNANT MAN for the Big Screen
20th Century Fox has picked up the right to the graphic novel Malignant Man. The Conjuring director James Wan is the creator of the comic, and he will be developing it for the big screen as a producer… for now. He's not officially attached to direct it at this time, but I'm sure it's something that he'd definitely be interested in doing.
The story focuses on Alan Gates, "a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis who is resigned to his fate until he discovers that his tumor is actually a mysterious parasite. Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past."
Wan is such a crazy talented director. I've enjoyed every film that he's made so far, and I hope he is able to work out a deal with the studio, and clear out his schedule so that he can bring his own story to life. This story seems like it has the makings of an awesome movie.
